The Institute for the Handicapped and Backward People (IHBP) organized an awareness program today aimed at addressing mental stress management and empowering parents of disabled students. The event, held at the institute’s premises, was announced by Soma Das, with distinguished speakers highlighting key aspects of emotional resilience and support for families of differently-abled children.
The program commenced with an insightful address by Mrs. L. Khatun, Secretary of IHBP. She emphasized the importance of understanding the challenges faced by parents and the need for consistent emotional and psychological support. “Parents are the strongest pillars in the lives of their children. Empowering them ensures a brighter future for the differently-abled,” she stated.
The second speaker, Prodeep Kr Barui, former Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal, shared his expertise in handling societal challenges and providing assistance to families in need.
