Institute for the Handicapped and Backward People is proud to special mention that Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC) – Lucknow, had invited students of our Organization for Divya Kala Shakti Celebration Varanasi 2023 which was initially stated to held on 15th April 2023 at Rudraksha-International Cooperation & Convention Centre, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. But due to some unavoidable circumstances the program was postponed.

We were later informed that program will be finally held on 27th May 2023. We all including the 5 participants (students) namely Akash Naskar, Payel Mondal, Sonam Mondal, Somasree Das and Sabnoor Khatun of the dance group were very much happy and excited as it was the first time our students will be participating in such a prestigious event outside our State, in the State of Uttar Pradesh.  Our participating students under the guidance of Dolon Halder our Dance Instructor started doing rehearsal before leaving for Varanasi.

Finally on 24th May our participating students along with Dolon Halder our Dance Instructor, Rishi Malik Special Educator, our Secretary Madam Laily Khatun and Founder Director Dr. M. A. Hasan Sahani boarded Sealdah-Rajdhani Exp. at 4.40 pm from Sealdah Station for Pt. Volunteers and Staff of CRC Varanasi received us and escorted us to our Hotel. We had a hectic schedule at Varanasi for the next 2-3 days with rehearsal every day at Rudraksha-International Cooperation & Convention Centre, with taking some time out for lunch and rest. Our students interacted with participants of others Organization and share ideas and thoughts. It was a learning experience for all of us. The students had their final rehearsal on 27th May with costume.

Finally on 28th May 2023 the day arrived for Divya Kala Shakti (witnessing ability in disability) program. It was a grand program with Organization/students from various States participating. As our turn came our students put forward a splendid dance program and won the hearts of the audience. Among the audience were some of the most eminent and distinguished persons including Shri Rajesh Agarwal, Secretary, MSJE, Govt. of India, Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, District Social Welfare Officer, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Rajesh Kumar Pandey, Director, CRC Lucknow, Meena Kumari Sharma, Director, PNUNIPPD, Rajeev Sharma, Joint Secretary, DEPwD among others. All the participants were awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for taking part in “Divya Kala Shakti” Varanasi 2023.

We are indeed indebted to CRC Lucknow for inviting us and giving our students a stage to showcase their talent is such a prestigious event like Divya Kala Shakti, Varanasi – 2023. We convey our heartiest thanks to CRC, all staff and volunteers for their hospitality, cooperation, making our visit a success and memorable. On the last day of our visit, we visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple and offered our prayer in front of Mahadev-Shiv Shankar. CRC Lucknow had made special arrangement for our visit considering our special children. Volunteers of CRC Lucknow accompanied us and we were provided special pass including vehicle pass, so that our Vehicle could drop us nearest drop at the Temple. The Police Commissioner was gracious enough to issue special pass for our visit to the Temple. It was no doubt an eventful tour.

On 28th night, we boarded Sealdah-Rajdhani Express for our sweet home and city, Kolkata, with golden memories to last a life time. Thank your CRC, Lucknow.
