World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), is a global awareness day which has been officially observed on 21st march by the United Nations since 2012.

World Down Syndrome Day was celebrated with fervor at the Institute for the Handicapped and Backward People on March 21, 2024. The event saw enthusiastic participation from specially abled children of our Special School, parents, special educators and staff alike.

The occasion provided a platform to raise awareness about Down syndrome, promote inclusion, and celebrate the achievements of individuals with Down syndrome. Activities included informative sessions, performances aimed at fostering understanding and support for those with the condition.

Our Secretary Madam, Mrs. Laily Khatun spoke on this occasion, Special educators highlighted the importance of providing equal opportunities and creating a supportive environment for individuals with Down syndrome to thrive. Parents shared their experiences and emphasized the need for acceptance and inclusion in society.

The event served as a reminder of the unique talents and abilities of individuals with Down syndrome, encouraging everyone to embrace diversity and promote a more inclusive society. It was a heartwarming celebration of love, acceptance, and unity within the community.
