Rabindra Jayanti is an annually celebrated cultural festival around the world, in the remembrance of Rabindranath Tagore’s birthday anniversary. The celebration of Rabindra Jayanti is among the most important festival in West Bengal. Rabindranath Tagore was the first Indian to won the Nobel Prize in literature for his great writing name “Gitanjali in the year 1913.

This year 2023 is the 162 th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. Like every year, Institute for the Handicapped and Backward People celebrated Rabindra Jayanti on 9th May 2023 in its registered office in Behala, Kolkata, where all the special teachers, students participated. Our Secretary Madam Laily Khatun, first garlanded the portrait of Rabindranath Tagore and gave a speech about Kavi Guru Rabindranath Tagore, his life and so on. Later on a small cultural program (song, dance and recitation) followed where the special students of our special schools participated.

The program ended with the Special Teachers thanking all present for making the program a success.
